Capacitor Tuning

Using a stepping-motor, the capacitance of the variable capacitor can be tuned between the mechanical end stops. The stepping-motor can be driven with standard stepping-motor driver signals

Download C-Curve

The characteristic C-Curve of the variable capacitor is stored within the ID module. It can be downloaded to a PC or control board.

Stepping-Motor Driver Interface

The module includes a stepping-motor driver. The stepping-motor driver can be controlled with standard pulse and direction commands.

High-Level Commands

The module can be controlles froma PC or control board using high-level commands. Different logical interfaces are available. The COMET proprietary protocol allows the execution of the following commands:

- Read the calibration data, inclduing characteristic capacitance curve (C-Curve) and serial number of the module, taht is stored on the memory chip or within the microcontroller (depending on the very module) and store it in a text file on the PC

- Control the motion of the stepping-motor that drives teh vacuum capacitor in the module, namley set the capacitor to a specific capacitance value; set the capacitor to Cmax value; set the capacitor to Cmin value; refernce at Cmin position; move the drive by a given number of steps.
